WHY WE'RE DIFFERENT
WHY WE'RE DIFFERENT
What you don’t know is hurting your search
The extra effort you put into styling and formatting your résumé might actually hurt you…and you probably don’t even know it.
If you’ve submitted your highly-designed résumé hundreds of times with nothing but radio silence from employers, you probably want to know: “What gives?”
Here’s what’s happening:
- Most widely-used Applicant Tracking Systems [ATS] are based on technology developed over a decade ago.
- They’re not smart enough to differentiate between more standard fonts like Times New Roman or Arial and the more stylized custom fonts of today.
- They don’t “read” images, pictures or graphics very well, much less give you credit for being creative. They log them as errors and any text over top of them often gets missed.
- They can’t “see” formatting that separates things like dates of service from position descriptions when they’re formatted in multiple columns.
Before Enfuego
In short, the more creative you are with how your résumé looks, the worse it is for you.
In many cases, your résumé doesn’t even get seen by humans in the HR department. That’s a waste of your time and efforts.
Enfuego is changing this.
When you upload your résumé on our platform, you’ll see – for the last time – how formatting errors end up suppressing your skills from view. In some instances it looks pretty gnarly, but we’ll fix it with your input.
Here’s what Enfuego will help you do:
Simplify.
We take the non-conforming design out of your résumé and use a font that research tells us is virtually universal in the world of ATS.
Focus on skills.
This will be the last time you’ll have to worry, “What should I put on my résumé?” Spend at least 20 minutes on the relevant Skills, Certifications, Education, and Accomplishments sections and you’ll be good to go.
